Caito Ortiz

Caíto Ortiz is a screenwriter, director, producer, and one of the founding members of Pródigo Filmes. In 2003, his first documentary, Motoboys: Vida Loca, won the Audience Award for Best Documentary at the 27th São Paulo International Film Festival.

His second feature film, The Great Robbery of Brazil’s World Cup Trophy (O Roubo da Taça), premiered at SXSW in 2016, where it won the Audience Award, in addition to receiving four Kikito awards at the Gramado Film Festival that same year.

Ortiz served as general director of Girls from Ipanema (Coisa Mais Linda) and executive producer of Invisible City (Cidade Invisível), both Netflix original series with two seasons. He also directed episodes of the second season of Cangaço Novo, an acclaimed Amazon Prime Video production.

In 2023, he directed all five episodes of the miniseries Anderson Spider Silva, the first original series by Pródigo Filmes for Paramount+, which was nominated for the 2024 International Emmy Awards in the Best Miniseries category.
