Clara Deák is a screenwriter and director with a diverse career in audiovisual media. She holds a master’s degree in Screenwriting and Dramaturgy from the prestigious Northwestern University in Illinois, where she developed her auteur feature film Você Não Está Tão Perdido Assim, which served as her master’s thesis, was selected for the Cine Qua Non Lab 2022, and won the Screenwriting Krevoy Prize at Northwestern University.

For streaming platforms, she participated in the writers’ rooms for the comedy series Cangaceiros do Futuro (Netflix) and the horror series O Vale dos Esquecidos (HBO Max). Recently, she worked as a screenwriter on a Disney+ series project with a spirituality-related theme, currently under confidentiality.

As a filmmaker, she wrote and co-directed the documentary series Sociedades Matriarcais (GNT), a challenging project filmed across four countries: Guinea-Bissau, India, Indonesia, and Costa Rica.

Versatile in her craft, Clara has also written for sitcoms including Cilada, Morando Sozinho, Meu Passado Me Condena, Os Homens São de Marte e É Pra Lá Que Eu Vou, and Vai Que Cola, for which she also performed final script revisions on several episodes in 2019. In 2016, she co-wrote the successful teen feature film Meus 15 Anos, starring Larissa Manoela.
