Henrique dos Santos is a screenwriter and author, with extensive research focused on the representation of Black masculinity. He co-wrote the feature film Deserto Particular with Aly Muritiba, which won the Audience Award at the 18th Giornate Degli Autori at the Venice Film Festival, represented Brazil in the Best International Feature Film category at the 2022 Oscars, and won Best Original Screenplay at the 2022 Grande Prêmio do Cinema Brasileiro.

Building on this successful collaboration with Muritiba, he contributed to the screenplay of Nova Éden, recently approved in an FSA funding call, and the film Barba Ensopada de Sangue, an adaptation of Daniel Galera’s novel, currently without a release date.

With RT Features, he worked on the screenwriting team for the feature Poros, with story and direction by Renata Martins; on the development of a horror series for Amazon under the supervision of Gabriel Martins, Francine Barbosa, and Igor Verde; and on the development of a feature film script under the supervision of Karin Aïnouz.

Recently, he adapted the book O Voo da Guará Vermelha with Escarlate Conteúdo & Entretenimento, participated in the writers’ room for the documentary series A Mulher da Casa Abandonada for Amazon with Coiote Produtora, and is currently writing a series for Max in partnership with Maria Farinha.
