One of the most prolific authors in Brazilian audiovisual, L.G. Bayão is the screenwriter behind some of the country’s biggest box office hits. He has written for directors such as Andrucha Waddington, Vicente Amorim, Halder Gomes, José Eduardo Belmonte, and Julia Rezende, and is the author of feature films like Minha Fama de Mau, Aumenta que é Rock, Ponte Aérea, Shaolin do Sertão, Motorrad, among others.
L.G. Bayão rose to national recognition with Irmã Dulce (2014), directed by Vicente Amorim, which earned him his first of many nominations for the Grande Prêmio do Cinema Brasileiro. In 2025, Assalto à Brasileira, his latest film in collaboration with José Eduardo Belmonte, was chosen as Best Film by the audience jury at the prestigious Brasília Film Festival, reaffirming his ability to connect with Brazilian audiences.
Bayão has established his name as one of the leading screenwriters of his generation, with a career distinguished by remarkable versatility across genres. Among the nearly 30 films he has written are dramas, comedies, true crime stories, biographies, thrillers, and youth-oriented films. He is currently developing a feature film (still under wraps) with Barry Company, and a series for the Hispanic-American network Telemundo.
